Monthly board meetings are hosted by member companies and provide a mechanism for managing the chapter's events, as well as a forum for continuing dialogue on important business information from the community. Quarterly executive breakfasts bring board members and their key company executives together with government and industry leaders who speak on topics ranging from space industrial base to national missile defense National Missile Defense (NMD) as a generic term is a military strategy and associated systems to shield an entire country against incoming Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs). The missiles could be intercepted by other missiles, or possibly by lasers. .

Three annual events provide broader forums for industry and membership participation. Each February, we host the NDIA West Coast Dinner. This event includes a national speaker and culminates in the presentation of our Bob Hope Distinguished Citizen Award to a West Coast-based industry or government leader who has contributed significantly to supporting NDIA's mission and goals. This year, we hosted Adm. James O. Ellis Admiral James O. Ellis, Jr. (born July 20, 1947 in Spartanburg, South Carolina) is a retired 4-star admiral and former Commander, United States Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.  Jr., commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, and presented the Bob Hope Distinguished Citizen Award to Daniel P. Burnham, chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Raytheon Company.

In conjunction with the dinner-related activities, we also serve as the host for a space committee luncheon. In April of this year, with other professional associations in the area, we hosted the annual SMC SMC Saint Mary's College
SMC Santa Monica College
SMC Solaris Management Console
SMC Smooth Muscle Cell
SMC Small Magellanic Cloud (also see LMC)
SMC Safety Management Certificate (maritime shipping)
Industry Days Conference to showcase the procurement and project-related responsibilities of the Space and Missile Systems Center. This is an annual event in the March-April time frame to support an effective and continuing dialogue between SMC and industry. In June, we provide our annual golf tournament at the Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Chino (chē`nō), city (1990 pop. 59,682), San Bernardino co., S Calif.; founded 1887, inc. 1910. It is the business and processing center of a diversified farming (notably dairying) area. , Calif.

Additionally, we hold our annual meeting and associated events in July. The funds raised from our different events are donated back into the community in a variety of ways. Annually, we provide a $5,000 donation to the local USO. This year, we donated an additional $5,000 to help the USO renovate and expand facilities at Los Angeles International Airport “LAX” redirects here. For other uses, see LAX (disambiguation).

INDIAN HEAD CHAPTER (SOUTHERN MARYLAND)

Chapter board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month.

The Indian Head Chapter, established in the early 1960s, serves the Southern Maryland area. The chapter has 57 members. The chapter's main annual activities include quarterly luncheon meetings, the Autumn Festival and the annual Roger M. Smith Memorial Science and Engineering Scholarship golf tournament. The Autumn Festival typically attracts more than 2,300 people, including employees and their families of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, and the surrounding community of Indian Head and Charles County. In 1991, the chapter established an annual golf tournament to help broaden community support for local activities. To date, the chapter has raised and distributed over $40,000 in scholarships to encourage local students pursuing college education in science or engineering. In 1999, the scholarship and golf tournament were named in honor of Roger Smith, the division's late technical director.

Over the last 11 years, IGVC has provided a unique opportunity for more than 40 colleges and universities and more than 1,000 students, to explore and develop skills in the field of intelligent vehicle systems. The chapter provided funds in support of the Michigan Vietnam Memorial, as well as the new Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. PICATINNY CHAPTER (NORTHERN NEW JERSEY AREA)

The chapter has had a significant increase in membership and has sponsored the local chapter of Women In Defense, WID. We are one of three chapters to be granted the distinction of an NDIA model chapter, for the second year in a row. In the field of education, we are very active in supporting the national organization and Picatinny Arsenal in: the International Armament, Mortars, Technical Workshop, Directed Energy Workshop and Environmental Symposium. The chapter conducts two major Firepower Programs. One in June, the Firepower Scholarship Benefit, is held in conjunction with our annual national symposium. The other, held in November, is the Firepower Awards Luncheon, which honors those individuals who made a significant contribution to national defense. Tied to Firepower Awards is a separate function recognizing annual classifications and material releases. Awards are provided to Picatinny and industrial people to recognize their work in providing new firepower capability for the troops. This year, the chapter will give 10 to 12 scholarship awards ($1,500 each) to outstanding high school seniors. Since 1980, the chapter has awarded approximately $400,000 in scholarships to high school seniors intending to pursue college-level studies in high technology programs. Every year, the chapter provides funds for many benefit and charitable programs including U.S. Savings Bond Savings bond
