ORANGE, Calif. -- NComputing, Inc., an emerging technology provider of "desktop streaming" technology and completed network solutions, announces that its entire product line now supports the Linux operating system. NComputing's proprietary "desktop streaming" technology allows users to create multiple computing terminals for simultaneous use from one host PC. Business and education PC users can save considerable deployment costs since the Linux operating system, Open Source software and NComputing's terminal products reduce hardware, networking and IT costs. The Linux operating system and Open Source software applications also eliminate costly licenses for proprietary software.

Linspire includes the Click-N-Run installation feature. For a one-time fee, users have access to the Click-N-Run software Web site and can download a variety of proprietary and open source applications with one click of the mouse.

Linspire was introduced in 2001 under the name LindowsOS, and the company was called Lindows, Inc.

Founded by Sun which is its main supporter, OpenOffice.org's version is a lighter edition of Sun's StarOffice. NComputing's PC Expanion L100 is the world's first terminal unit that functions as an ordinary PC when connected to a host computer. This product allows users to turn one computer into the equivalent of up to 30 PCs. Target customers of the L100 are businesses of all sizes, education, government and the hospitality market. NComputing has also recently announced the new Xtenda X300 desktop expansion kit for system builders. The Xtenda X300 kit allows three additional SOHO users to share one host computer and networking is not required.

NComputing is also working with a CPU virtualization software company to create completed solutions for the Enterprise market by leveraging emerging CPU technologies available by Intel and AMD. NComputing's "one size-fits all" product offerings are predicted to help with the adoption and implementation of new, emerging corporate and SOHO computing platforms.

Pricing and Availability

The PC Expanion L100 is available now for $199 (MSRP) at Best Buy (NYSE:BBY), PC Connection (NASDAQ:PCCC), and TigerDirect/Systemax (NYSE:SYX) for North American consumers. The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for the Xtenda X300 three-user kit for system builders is $249 and all products are backed by a 1-year limited warranty.
