, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Rome, New York Rome is a city in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 34,950 at the 2000 census. It is in New York's 24th congressional district. The city is named after the Italian city of Rome. . The task order was the result of a competitive award under the Air Force's NETCENTS NETCENTS Network-Centric Solutions (US Air Force)  contract and has a one year value of approximately $5.5 million. Under the task order, NCI will provide information technology services to support the researchers and scientists at the Rome Research Site during the government fiscal year 2008. Effort under this task order commenced October 1, 2007.
