(NCD) (OTC: NCDI.OB), a leading provider of thin client information access and management products, has today announced that it is shipping new Thinfrastructure products, NCD ThinSTAR 232 Windows-based terminals (WBTs) and NCD ThinPATH Plus V 2.1, to customers. The new WBT is a reliable, high-performance plug-and-play device, offered at an entry-level price, accompanied by an improved version of the NCD ThinPATH Plus software.

The NCD ThinSTAR 232 WBT gives IT managers the ability to deploy high-performance desktop devices to task-based users while controlling costs and easing management headaches. The NCD ThinSTAR 232 provides managed access to mission-critical applications with the lowest cost of ownership in its class.

The new device features 8 MB flash memory and 32 MB RAM (sufficient for access to Windows NT and support for multiple sessions), and also supports 64k colors. Features of the NCD ThinSTAR 232 include:

All NCD ThinSTAR Windows-based terminals are designed to create simple access to applications running on Microsoft Windows NT Server, Terminal Server Edition, Windows 2000 Servers, Citrix MetaFrame or Citrix WinFrame utilizing the RDP and ICA protocol. The NCD ThinSTAR 232 will replace the existing NCD ThinSTAR 208, 216 and 300, and is available through the company's worldwide network of resellers and distributors.

When combined with NCD ThinPATH Plus software, the NCD ThinSTAR 232 provides centralized manageability as well as local audio input and output and a wide range of local peripheral connectivity options. Major enhancements include:

NCD ThinPATH Plus v2.1 extends the deployment of server-based applications with transparent support for a variety of serial or parallel desktop peripherals. The software also enables Windows sounds, such as Windows audio cues and .WAV and video files to be heard at the PC or NCD ThinSTAR WBT. The audio data stream dynamically adjusts to the available network load by compressing the data. NCD ThinPATH(R) Plus 2.1 can be used to support a variety of industry-specific applications with specialized serial and parallel devices such as bar code readers, credit card readers and check scanners for point-of-sale retail applications; dictation devices, smart card readers and light pens for point-of-care applications in the healthcare industry; as well as fingerprint recognition devices for security applications in the banking and airline industries.

NCD ThinSTAR 232: $599. In addition, NCD is offering a price reduction on all NCD ThinSTAR Windows-based Terminals, with the NCD ThinSTAR 400 being reduced to $749 and the NCD ThinSTAR 450 to $849.

NCD ThinPATH(R) Plus 2.1: Eight different product packages are available: five-user license package ($295), ten-user license package ($560), fifty-user license package ($2650), and flexible license packages at four levels, including:

-- 51-100 seats - $47/seat

-- 101 - 500 seats $41/seat

-- 501 - 2000 seats $34/seat

-- 2000 + seats $29/seat
