 NCCJ TO HONOR RUPERT MURDOCH OF FOX ON NOV. 11 IN LOS ANGELES
 UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Rupert Murdoch, chairman and chief executive officer of News Corp. Ltd. and Fox Inc., will receive the prestigious Humanitarian Award of the National Conference of Christians & Jews (NCCJ) on Nov. 11. Recognition of Murdoch, who is head of Twentieth Century Fox Film Studio and the Fox Broadcasting Co. programming service, will take place at the NCCJ Los Angeles Regent's 29th Annual Entertainment Industry Humanitarian Awards Dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel beginning at 6:30 p.m.
 Chairpersons for the event are Edie and Lew Wasserman.
 In addition to overseeing all aspects of Fox Inc., a multifaceted entertainment company, Murdoch also heads its parent company, The News Corp. Ltd. -- a global media company which includes TV Guide; HarperCollins book publishing company; newspapers in the United States, England, Australia and Hong Kong; and British Sky Broadcasting, a satellite-delivered programming service in the United Kingdom. News Corp.'s entertainment and publishing holdings now extend to four continents.
 Murdoch, a native of Melbourne, Australia, and a graduate of Oxford University, is married to Anna Murdoch, a novelist. They have three children.
 Previous recipients of the Humanitarian Award include Robert C. Wright, Oprah Winfrey, Thomas S. Murphy, Sidney J. Sheinberg, Alan Alda, Walter Cronkite, Carol Burnett, Dr. Henry A. Kissinger, Leonard H. Goldenson, Jack Benny, Bob Hope and Gregory Peck.
 The National Conference of Christians & Jews is a 64-year-old non-sectarian human relations education and training organization dedicated to reducing prejudice and intergroup tensions.
