NCC Sells Two Texas ISPs In Last Month.

) today announced that GVEC GVEC Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative .net, an Internet Service Provider Internet service provider (ISP)

Company that provides Internet connections and services to individuals and organizations. For a monthly fee, ISPs provide computer users with a connection to their site (see data transmission), as well as a log-in name and password.

4U (and Hilconet), a regional ISP based in New Braunfels, Texas New Braunfels (pronounced "Brawnfells") is a city in Texas in the United States. Braunfels means "brown rock" in German; the city is named for Braunfels, in Germany. In 2000, its population was 36,494, while in 2005 the U.S. . NCC represented AXS4U in the sale. The all cash transaction closed February 1, 2003, the price was not disclosed.

GVEC.net is a privately held stock corporation owned by the Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative, which serves over 50,000 customers across 13 counties in South Central Texas, and Karnes Electric Cooperative which serves 14,000 customers across 12 South Texas counties. The acquisition brings GVEC.net's customer base to over 10,000 accounts, solidifying GVEC.net as a major player in the ISP market in South Texas.

According to GVEC.net General Manager & CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Marcus W. Pridgeon, "We saw the potential of expanding our ISP operations into the western portions of Texas in terms of customer growth and increased market share. This acquisition will strengthen our company's operational efficiencies and network infrastructure as well as open up new territory." Pridgeon added, "While many in the Internet service industry are struggling to stay afloat, GVEC.net is a profitable, stable ISP that continues to grow its customer base and improve its products and services. We look forward to bringing our strong customer service philosophy to our new customers."

According to Tom Millitzer, President of NCC, "We are pleased that we could find a buyer that satisfied the seller's requirements of continued dedicated service and customer satisfaction," said Mr. Millitzer, "Although the company was sold in approximately eight weeks from listing, the seller was able to select from several qualified suitors, enabling him to achieve their goals."

Last week NCC announced the sale of DelRio.com, another Texas ISP, to Broadband Unwired LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.
