Turiaf, who did not return a message on his cell phone, did not play in the Lakers' two games last weekend. He did not dress for Monday's game and was not at the Pyramid in Long Beach for Tuesday's loss to the Miami Heat.

The Lakers also are continuing their search for a point guard after free-agent Antonio Daniels turned them down in favor of a five-year, $29 million contract with the Washington Wizards.

Agent Aaron Goodwin, who represents veterans Gary Payton and Damon Stoudamire, said in an e-mail he thought the Lakers had an interest in both players ``but not to any length.''
