It's for the rest of us (abuse) for The Rest Of Us - (From the Macintosh slogan "The computer for the rest of us") 1. Used to describe a spiffy product whose affordability shames other comparable products, or (more often) used sarcastically to describe spiffy but very overpriced products. 2. . Like other books of the popular series, ``Freshwater Fishing'' assumes you know little about the subject. But, unlike a few of its predecessors, it is not so simple-minded and vague as to be practically useless to anyone who has held a rod before. Although some passages appear to have been cut-and-pasted and ever-so-lightly edited from previous Freshwater Angler works, the guide as a whole is contemporary, informative and comprehensive - covering basic game-fish behavior, angling equipment and skills, fish preparation and storage, photography and, most important, the how-to for catching the 14 major freshwater-fish species. The guide is a fun and breezy read that will enhance the experience of anglers who enjoy the sport perhaps once or twice a year, those who never had the benefit of a parent who passed on all that inside information experts possess, and even newcomers. More experienced anglers might learn a thing or two, as well. Most stunning is the guide's photography and photo illustrations. They result in not only a well-designed, practical book but one that is as good for the coffee table as it is the occasional angler's study. Grade: A - Michael A.
