--Head West, young fly: Fly-fishing fans from the West will love the easy access greeting them on the Westfly Web site (www.westfly.com). Links to Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and California are available.

We tried California, of course, and found several options. A highlight was an update on several rivers in the state. As usual, Northern California Northern California, sometimes referred to as NorCal, is the northern portion of the U.S. state of California. The size of the fish displayed on the Web site's front page, giant stripers and rockfish rockfish, member of the large family Scorpaenidae (rockfishes and scorpionfishes), carnivorous fish inhabiting all seas and especially abundant in the temperate waters of the Pacific. Rockfishes are found among rocks and reefs. , make it hard to argue. This site has plenty of articles, fly-tying tips and an ``Ask the Guides'' section.
