NATO proposes its own "Rapid Reaction Corps". (Insider Report).

Although the NATO alliance was sold to the public as a European "collective security" arrangement intended to keep the Soviet army at bay, its first military venture was the 1999 aggressive war on Yugoslavia. But NATO's ruling council insists that the alliance will "present a united force for use in global conflict," beginning with an envisioned military strike against Iraq later this year.
