NATIVITY SCENES SPANNING GLOBE 700 DISPLAYS SET FOR WEEKEND CRECHE FESTIVAL.

LANCASTER - Seven hundred Nativity scenes from around the world will be on display this weekend in the annual Christmas Creche Art and Music Festival sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ Church of Jesus Christ may refer to:
  • Christian Church, the body of all persons that share faith based in Christianity
  • Church of Jesus Christ–Christian, a white-supremacist church founded by Ku Klux Klan organizer Wesley A.
 of Latter-day Saints.

An Eskimo Nativity, a Nativity created inside a walnut shell and a live Nativity scene will be part of the festival, which will also feature performances from dozens of choirs, soloists and musical groups.

The festival will open at 6 p.m. today at the LDS LDs

 East Stake building at Avenue J and 27th Street East. Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. today, noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. Sunday and noon to 6 p.m. Monday.

Admission is free.

Music will begin at 7 p.m. with the second annual High School Choral Festival, featuring at least six local high school choirs.

For the first time, the weekend performances will include three different bell choirs performing. There will also be a variety of community orchestras, church choirs, private groups and soloists performing during the festival.

A Messiah sing-a-long is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday.

In Palmdale, a live Nativity pageant will be conducted Dec. 19-22 at the LDS Palmdale Stake, 2120 E. Ave. R. The Palmdale pageants will occur every half-hour from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 19-22.

3 p.m. Lancaster Community Flute Choir A flute choir is an instrumental ensemble consisting entirely of instruments from the flute family.
