 $2,850 to help support the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve The Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve is a California wildlife reserve located in the rural westside of the Antelope Valley in northern Los Angeles County. Constitutionally, it is a state park. Its namesake is the state flower, the California Poppy. .

The donation is a sponsorship for two acres in the 1,745-acre reserve, plus the placement of two benches with plaques plaques,

The benches will be placed along trails in the reserve, which is a state park.

 as the state flower. Native Daughters of the Golden West units planted poppies along highways and supplied seeds to individuals and organizations.

Native Daughters of the Golden West is an organization that has supported replanting of the state flower since its designation in 1903.

The organization also supports restoration projects for California missions, veterans' welfare and the designation of buildings and sites as historic. Its children's foundations helps pay for medical and dental care for needy need·y

Membership in the Native Daughters of the Golden West is open to any native-born California women ages 16 or older. The members meet regularly in chapters called parlors.
