NATIONAL ORGANIZE YOUR HOME OFFICE DAY, MARCH 23

DALLAS, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- If you are tired of searching for lost items buried in mounds of paper on your desk, mark March 23 on your calendar. The second annual "National Organize Your Home Office Day" is dedicated to reminding the 38.4 million home office professionals in America to set aside at least one day each year to organize their home offices.
"Disorganization wastes time and money," says Bobbie Cooper, marketing services and communications director at Avery Dennison, a leading worldwide manufacturer of office products. She adds, "With the right tips and tools, it's possible for anyone to get organized and this holiday is the perfect time to start."
Avery Dennison offers these tips by Lisa Kanarek, Dallas-based organizing expert and author of Organizing Your Home Office For Success, to help you get started.
-- Designate an area in your home as an office, and only use this area for work.
-- Clean out desk drawers and only keep frequently used supplies stored within them.
-- Take time to set up files and clearly label them.
-- Add shelves to your home office to keep books and reference materials within reach.
-- Keep your family from borrowing your office supplies by buying an extra set for them and labeling them.
-- Store notebooks vertically to save shelf space and clearly label each notebook.
In conjunction with National Organize Your Home Office Day, Home Office Computing magazine and Everything's Organized, a Dallas-based consulting firm, are conducting the "Search For The Most Disorganized Home Office." Avery Dennison is a co-sponsor of the contest.
During March and April, disorganized home office professionals are being asked to submit a 200 word-or-less description of why theirs is the most disorganized home office along with a photo of their home office. Official entry forms are available in the March and April issues of Home Office Computing magazine. The deadline for entry is April 30, 1993.
