NATIONAL MEDIA TO SUPPLY HOME SHOPPING PROGRAMMING FOR ITALIAN TELEVISION

 PHILADELPHIA, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- National Media Corporation (NYSE: NM) announced today that its international subsidiary, Quantum International, Ltd., will have its infomercial programming broadcast in Italy beginning this September.
 More than 20 hours per week of Quantum's transactional television programs will go out over the Italia 7 network of terrestrial TV channels across the seven main regions of Italy. Each of these regions has its own television channel and program scheduling, so Quantum's shows will be broadcast during the day and night. Quantum will supply Italia 7 with home shopping programs marketing a range of high quality health and fitness, beauty and personal care, leisure, kitchen and household, and automotive products.
 John J. Turchi Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of National Media, said, "The Italia 7 agreement is an important development in European home shopping. While there has been a limited number of infomercial style programs on Italian television in the past, our agreement to supply Italia 7 marks the first serious entry of transactional television programming into Italian broadcasting. The contract is also a milestone for Quantum in that it is their first terrestrial supply contract in Europe, in addition to the 200 hours per week broadcast via satellite TV throughout the region."
 Established in 1987, Italia 7 is a network of seven individual companies, each responsible for its own broadcast region. The private television network broadcasts 24 hours of entertainment, current affairs, national and local news programs to an average daily audience of 8.2 million viewers.
