NATIONAL MEDIA TO BEGIN HOME SHOPPING BROADCASTS IN SINGAPORE; COMPANY'S INFOMERCIALS TO AIR IN FEBRUARY 1994

 PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- National Media Corporation (NYSE: NM) announced today that its international subsidiary, Quantum International Ltd., has signed an exclusive agreement with the Singaporian government to broadcast the first home shopping infomercials on national television in Singapore.
 Quantum will supply the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation with two hours of home shopping infomercials per day for broadcast on Singapore Channel 5 beginning in February 1994.
 John J. Turchi Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of National Media said, "We consider Singapore to be the gateway to Asia and we believe that success in Singapore will lead to opportunities in the neighboring countries in the Asia/Pacific market. Quantum has established itself as the dominant direct response infomercial company in Europe, and is now successfully leveraging its capabilities into the Far East."
 Quantum's venture with Singapore Broadcasting Corporation follows the signing last month of a contract to supply New Zealand's national television station TV3 with infomercial programming. Previously, Quantum's operations in New Zealand were limited to short-form (60 second) direct response advertising.
 With the addition of Singapore, National Media Corporation's activities extend into 26 countries including the U.S. and Canada.
