The newsletters, both launched in 1995, cover the disease management sector of the health care industry and managed dental care industry, respectively. DMN is published 24 times a year with an annual subscription price of $389. MDC is a monthly with an annual subscription price of $277.

NHI president David Schwartz David Schwartz is a composer, noted for his scoring the music for the multiple Emmy Award-winning television series, Arrested Development, Deadwood, and numerous others. He attended the School of Visual Arts in New York and the Berklee College of Music in Boston.  said the acquired publications "extend our already considerable reach in the managed care market, particularly in the disease management area where we are now clearly the leading information provider." Schwartz said that BIS president Jim Gutman will continue as a consultant and editor.

Besides the acquired properties, NHI publishes 11 other newsletters, including such titles as Capitation Management Report, Senior Care Management, Physician Profiler and Postacute Payment Report.
