NATIONAL FUEL GAS SUPPLY FILES RATE REQUEST
WITH THE FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION
BUFFALO, N.Y., Dec. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation announced today that a request for tariff changes has been filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) that moves about $70 million, previously recovered through the Purchased Gas Adjustment, to base rates.
This shift, a result of converting sales to transportation service from National Fuel's upstream suppliers, will not result in an increase to customers.
Also included in the filing is a general rate increase request of approximately $41.1 million. This marks the first rate increase request by the company in three years.
An effective date of Feb. 1, 1992, is sought but the FERC normally suspends the requested date. It is expected that new rates will go into effect July 1, 1992.
National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation is a subsidiary of National Fuel Gas Company (NYSE: NFG). Its primary businesses are natural gas sales, underground storage and interstate transportation of natural gas for utilities and other pipeline companies. The new rates will effect all of the company's wholesale and transportation customers.
