NATIONAL DATACOMPUTER, INC. REPORTS LOSS FOR SECOND QUARTER

BILLERICA, Mass., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Gerald S. Eilberg, chief financial officer of National Datacomputer, Inc. (NDIC) today announced the results of its second quarter ended June 30, 1993.
Eilberg reported that revenues for the quarter were $1,220,111 with a loss of $69,608 as compared to revenues of $919,892 and a net profit of $3,146 for the same period in 1992.
For the six months ended June 30, 1993 revenues were $2,029,598 as compared to $1,649,314 for the six months ended June 30, 1992. The net loss for the current six months was $16,089 as compared to a net loss of $158,230 for the same period in 1992.
Earnings per share figures for all periods above were $0.00.
Eilberg said that "even with an unprofitable quarter, NDIC has earned over $150,000 in the last four quarters, as compared to a loss of $600,000 for the four quarters preceding these last four."
Norman Mackinnon, president of NDIC, commented that "NDIC had a loss in the quarter, but timing was an important factor. We are beginning to show excellent activity with Value Added Resellers (VARS) in some of the markets we are addressing. The positive aspect of this is to greatly expand sales potential without expanding the direct sales force. Since you have less control however, the timing of sales through VARS can slip more easily."
National Datacomputer, Inc. designs, manufactures, markets and services rugged, programmable handheld computers, data collection devices and peripherals. NDIC is also a leading developer of software solutions, such as its Route Service System, for people who need the power of a PC in the field, rather than at their desk. The company's shares are traded over-the-counter.
