NATIONAL COMMITTEE TO PRESERVE SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE
 INTRODUCES NEW MAGAZINE FOR SENIORS
WASHINGTON, July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Secure Retirement, The
Magazine for Mature Americans, the new publication of the National
Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, may be unique
among magazines aimed at America's seniors.
The focus of the 52-page publication, printed eight times a year,
is news about what the policy makers in Washington are doing for --
and to -- Social Security, Medicare and other programs vital to older
Americans, said National Committee President Martha McSteen.
"Secure Retirement enhances our ability to communicate with
members and with other seniors," said the head of the nation's
second-largest senior advocacy organization. "It gives seniors, in a
format easier to use and to understand, the information they need to
 become informed participants in."
Printed primarily for members of the National Committee, the
premiere issue of Secure Retirement was published in June. More than
2 million copies of the July/August issue are hitting the homes of
 National Committee members now.
The September issue of Secure Retirement, a 68-page version, will
feature the National Committee's biennial Congressional Scorecard and
a bind-in card urging committee members to volunteer in House and
 Senate campaigns.
The four-color magazine, produced by R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co.
Kentucky division, replaces the 8-year-old tabloid newspaper, Saving
Social Security, as the National Committee's flagship publication.
Secure Retirement will be published in January/February,
March/April, May, June, July/August, September, October and
 November/December.
