NATIONAL CITY CORPORATION ANNOUNCES SEVERAL KEY CORPORATE PROMOTIONS

 CLEVELAND, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- National City Corporation's (NYSE: NCC) board of directors recently approved the following corporate promotions: Gary P. Obers to senior vice president, National City corporate services; A. Joseph Parker to senior vice president, strategic planning; Jane Grebenc to vice president, consumer loan operations; and J. Michael Kearney to vice president, corporate purchasing and property.
 Profile of Gary P. Obers
 As senior vice president of National City corporate services, Obers is responsible for developing and coordinating marketing, sales, and customer service strategies for cash management services, as well as directing corporate banking product management. Obers is located in Cleveland.
 In 1980, Obers joined National City as a marketing officer. He advanced to assistant vice president, national division, in 1980, and was named vice president, corporate services, in 1983. He was promoted to senior vice president, corporate services, National City Bank (Cleveland) in 1987. In 1990, he was elected vice president of the corporation.
 Obers holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Akron and a master's degree in business administration from Case Western Reserve University.
 Profile of A. Joseph Parker
 As senior vice president of strategic planning, Parker is responsible for directing the strategic planning process and evaluating new initiatives for the corporation. In addition, Parker will retain responsibility for developing a new corporate delivery system strategy for the retail bank and coordinating that strategy with better customer service programs. Parker is located in Columbus, Ohio.
 In 1977, Parker joined National City Bank, Columbus as a management trainee. Since that time, he has held various management positions in operations, retail, finance and card services, including development manager in the bank's credit card division. He was elected senior vice president of the bank in 1990, and named chief financial officer in 1993.
 Parker is a graduate of Ohio State University and holds a master's degree in business administration from Xavier University.
 Profile of Jane Grebenc
 As vice president of consumer loan operations administration, Grebenc oversees consumer collections, operations, accounting, and compliance at National City's loan operations center in Brecksville, Ohio.
 In 1982, Grebenc joined National City Bank (Cleveland) as a trainee in the branch administration management development program. In 1985, she was appointed branch manager and lending officer of the Shoregate branch. She was promoted to assistant vice president, branch administration in 1987, and in 1989 became vice president, business services group. In 1990, Grebenc was appointed director of marketing and sales administration. Grebenc was also recently named senior vice president of National City Bank (Cleveland).
 Grebenc earned a bachelor of science degree in economics from John Carroll University in 1982, and a master's degree in marketing and finance from Case Western Reserve University in 1989.
 Profile of J. Michael Kearney
 As vice president of corporate purchasing and property, Kearney is responsible for directing the corporation's member bank purchasing and property managers to ensure that these activities are delivered in the most efficient, and cost-effective manner. Kearney is located in Columbus, Ohio.
 In 1981, Kearney joined National City Bank, Columbus as manager of systems and programming. He had been manager, logistical support services, since 1985 when he was named head of corporate purchasing and property in January of this year.
 Kearney holds a bachelor of science degree from Morehead State University, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Dayton. Kearney graduated from The Stonier Graduate School of Banking in 1985.
