Highlighting these individuals and organizations serves many functions. It provides a tremendous pat on the back from friends and peers for a job well done. It shows the successes of NRPA members and those working to achieve shared goals. You are exposed to some of the newest and most exciting programs and people in parks and recreation today. Excellence in parks and recreation may be visible in many places. The scope of such efforts may include: * Active support of meaningful legislation on local, state or national level as a promoter A person who devises a plan for a business venture; one who takes the preliminary steps necessary for the formation of a corporation. Promoters are the people, who, for themselves or on behalf of others, organize a corporation. or sponsor; with support on a national level scoring higher in significance. * Initiator of significant project(s); and/or donation of land facilities, art or literary collections or moneys. * Significant length of time spent working on one or more projects. * The ability to involve private enterprise, service organizations, the community and others to assist in bringing project(s) to fruition fru·i·tion n. 1. Realization of something desired or worked for; accomplishment: labor finally coming to fruition. 2.
