According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) website, Title I of HIPAA protects health insurance coverage for workers and their families when proceedings are now available from NAS (1) See network access server. NAS offers the coverage via a stand-alone HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996, Public Law 104-191) Also known as the "Kennedy-Kassebaum Act," this U.S. law protects employees' health insurance coverage when they change or lose their jobs (Title I) and provides standards for patient health, Protector policy. It is available by endorsement, without extra premium, to NAS Managed Care E&O insureds--and also to NAS Fiduciary Liability insureds who purchase their fiduciary coverage as part of the NAS Complete Business Liability program. The Complete program combines employment practices liability insurance, directors and officers and fiduciary liability in one policy. HIPAA Protector is also available at a discounted rate to NAS EPLI EPLI Employment Practices Liability Insurance insureds.
