 NANCY BEKAVAC ELECTED TO ELECTRO RENT BOARD
 VAN NUYS, Calif., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Nancy Y. Bekavac, 44,


president of Scripps College, has been elected to the board of directors of Electro Rent Corp. (NASDAQ: ELRC), Daniel Greenberg, chairman and chief executive officer, announced today.
 Bekavac is filling a vacancy on the seven-member board created by the retirement of Dr. Theodore A. Anderson, a faculty member at the UCLA Graduate School of Management. He has served on the Electro Rent board since 1978.
 She has been president of Scripps in Claremont, Calif., since 1990. For two years prior to that, Bekavac served as counselor to the president of Dartmouth College. In 1987 and 1988, she was a consultant to the Thomas J. Watson Foundation, doing research on the Watson Fellows over the last 20 years. From 1985 to 1987, Bekavac was executive director of the Thomas J. Watson Foundation. She received a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship in 1969.
 Bekavac was a partner in the Los Angeles law firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson from 1980 through 1985. Her legal practice focused on antitrust and securities cases at both the state and federal levels. She joined the firm, then known as Munger, Tolles and Rickershauser, in 1974.
 She received her bachelor of arts degree with high honors from Swarthmore College in 1969 and her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1973 where she was editor of the Yale Law Journal. Immediately after her graduation from Yale, she served as law clerk with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia for one year.
 Bekavac also served as an adjunct professor of law at UCLA Law School in 1982 and 1983, and as an adjunct professor of Law at Southwestern School of Law in 1980.
 Electro Rent Corp. is one of the largest nationwide organizations devoted to the short-term rental and leasing of general purpose electronic test equipment, personal computers and workstations.
