NAMM restructures to improve service.

, the International Music Products Association has announced several staff changes as part of a reorganization effort.

Pat Martin, NAMM's director of events, was promoted to the newly created position of chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president.
, responsible for supervising NAMM's day-to-day operations including the creation of a new Member Contact Center.

Melanie Ripley, from NAMM's membership department, is department manager. Jazz Watts, NAMM's longtime receptionist, joined Ripley in the Member Contact Center.

Appointed director of market development was Eric Ebel, formerly NAMM's trade show senior account representative. Ebel will be responsible for an annual budget of approximately $5 million that NAMM will reinvest back into the industry in the form of programs, activities and initiatives to create more active music makers.

Susan James has joined the market development department as the new public affairs Those public information, command information, and community relations activities directed toward both the external and internal publics with interest in the Department of Defense. Also called PA. See also command information; community relations; public information.  and government relations manager. James supports Mary Luehrsen and her ongoing work to give the music products industry a strong voice on Capitol Hill. James previously worked with California Sen. Barbara Boxer Barbara Levy Boxer (born November 11, 1940) is an American politician and the current junior U.S. Senator from the State of California.

A member of the Democratic Party, Boxer was first elected to the U.S.
 (D-CA).

NAMM also announced other employee changes. Sandra Kilpatrick Jordan, formerly of Sesame Workshop Sesame Workshop: see Cooney, Joan Ganz. , will join the NAMM staffas manager of programs and strategic partnerships, expanding on her previous consulting position with NAMM of securing new relationships for the Music Education Coalition and SupportMusic.com. Ken Wilson, NAMM's research analyst and former CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Musician's Institute, has been promoted to director of professional development, responsible for NAMM University and books and products. Wilson will continue to oversee NAMM's statistical services.
