 Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA NAIMA North American Insulation Manufacturers Association ) announced the 2005 recipient of the Stanley Matthews Sir Stanley Matthews, CBE (February 1 1915 - February 23 2000) was an English football player. Often regarded as one of the greats of the English game, he was the first footballer to be knighted (and is, as of 2006, the only player to have been knighted while still playing), as  Memorial Award, George E. Kiemle. Kiemle, Vice President and President of Owens Corning's Insulating Systems Business, was honored for his long service and dedication to NAIMA and the industry.

The Stanley Matthews Memorial Award, first given in 1989, is in recognition of individual contribution to promoting the benefits of insulation through energy conservation, energy efficiency and environmental preservation in the national interest.

Its role is to promote energy efficiency and environmental preservation through the use of fiber glass, rock wool, and slag wool insulation, and to encourage the safe production and use of these materials.
