NAIC should provide data without substantial fees.

As a past licensed insurance producer in New Jersey, I was greatly interested in "Foundations of Regulation: Annual Checkup checkĀ·up (chkp)
n.
1.
" by Peter Lencsis in the December 2005 issue of Best's Review.

The history and evolution he provided of legislative insurance regulations and reporting requirements were particularly interesting and informative. I especially liked the article's easy-reading style and the author's written manner of making his presentation reader-understandable. This type of writer makes me hunger for more of the same.

I am, however, disappointed to know that the NAIC does not provide insurer annual statement data without substantial fees attached. This unfair condition continues to hinder an interested party's ability to make more sound choices and better researched recommendations.

Nonetheless, thank you and your publication for this truly informative article, and please keep up the good work.
