"We have approximately 50 members in the disaster zone (DZ) and 80 members in the nearby disaster zone (NBDZ) stretching from New Orleans to Alabama and Mississippi," said Parnell Black, NACVA CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Disaster Damages: The Expert's Role and How to Recover NACVA's disaster recovery experts are putting together a three-day workshop designed to help members in the DZ get back on their feet. The workshop will outline forensic accounting -- what to do, how to do it, and where to get and gather information in a disaster. The workshop will also define how to calculate lost business profits from a disaster. Instructors will provide case studies and sample reports. In turn, NACVA members will be able to write claims and help their clients rebuild their own businesses. Classes are tentatively scheduled in Houston on Nov. 28, 2005, and Fort Lauderdale on Dec. 11, 2005.
