NACORE names Elliott outstanding corporate real estate exec.

Glenn J. Elliott, senior vice president, real estate services for Reuters America Holdings, Inc., has been named 1999 Outstanding Corporate Real Estate Executive by NACORE's New York Chapter.

Elliott will be honored at the NACORE Annual Awards Banquet on Monday, March 8th at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers, 811 Seventh Avenue. Elliott is the project director for the Reuters Building, a joint venture with the Rudin Organization to build a $360 million headquarters building at 3 Times square. The project will be the first new commercial office building completed in New York City to usher in the new millennium. It is scheduled to open in 2001.

Elliott's career spans more than 18 years as a senior real estate professional responsible for strategic planning, negotiating and asset managing real estate portfolios for major corporate organizations and advisory firms, including Cohen Brothers Realty, Jones Lang Wootton Realty Advisors, and Capital Cities/ABC. Prior to joining Reuters in 1995, Elliott served as deputy commissioner in charge of real estate for the City of New York Department of General Services.

The Reuters Building at 3 Times square will serve as Reuter's U.S. headquarters and also offer for leasing 150,000 square feet of commercial space in the tower of the building and 80,000 square feet of retail space on four levels. Users will benefit from the state-of-the-art technological infrastructure, including access to 28 telecom entrances, a ventilation system providing above-standard air exchange, satellite access, redundant energy sources, and built-in space for expansion of telecommunications infrastructure and a carrier-neutral fiber optic telecom backbone.

Elliott was the lead negotiator lot the Reuters Building transaction. The design of a new American headquarters building in New York City involved a year of strategy, planning and consultation with teams of real estate brokers, architects, tax advisors, and executive Reuters management.

"The project requires the consolidation of some 1,800 Manhattan-based staff from seven locations that will allow us to work close to our major customers in a more efficient manner," said Elliott. "Rather than constructing the project alone, we approached the Rudin family, a developer who respects our needs for a building that is environmentally responsible and technologically advanced."

Elliott resides in Manhattan with his wife Cheryl and daughters, Brooke and Alana.

Each year at its annual dinner, NACORE recognizes an Outstanding Real Estate Executive of the Year. The award was started in 1992 to recognize individuals who have performed outstandingly in serving their companies as real estate and facilities directors.

The chairman of this year's dinner is Michael Miglino of Atco Electrical. Tickets cost $275 per person and tables of 10 are $3,000, including a full page journal ad. As in previous years, the proceeds of the banquet will benefit the Harlem Educational Activities Fund, Inc. (HEAF) and other New York-based charities.
