I understand the value of political involvement on a local and national level. The Louisville Apartment Association has always had a powerful presence both locally and state,vide. What have you found to be your biggest challenge? One challenge has been getting our members to understand that a strong NAA PAC is vital to the multifamily housing industry. Most volunteers feel their monetary contributions are not enough to influence the national political arena. What is most rewarding about being an Ambassador? Getting people to become involved in NAA PAC who have never considered that their contribution could really make a difference is very rewarding. What goals have you set for yourself this year? Our goal is to increase participation and commitment from owners and managers who have not stepped forward to contribute in the past. What advice would you give to someone who is considering becoming an Ambassador? In order to be an effective Ambassador, you must realize the importance of the political process and be committed enough to the effort to make it happen. Keep in mind that people tend to devote time and energy to issues and causes for which they are most passionate. |
