N.E.T. Teams with Boeing on Defense Information Systems Network Contract.


REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 25, 1996--The Defense Information Systems Agency awarded the Defense Information System Network (DISN DISN Defense Information Systems Network

) Support Services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  - Global (DSS-G) contract to Boeing and a team of companies that includes N.E.T. Federal.

The work will be performed at Department of Defense (DOD (1) (Dial On Demand) A feature that allows a device to automatically dial a telephone number. For example, an ISDN router with dial on demand will automatically dial up the ISP when it senses IP traffic destined for the Internet. ) locations throughout the U.S. and the world.

DISN will incorporate many separate DOD communication subsystems into a common telecommunications infrastructure that provides command, control, intelligence and mission-critical information services to warfighters. DISN will furnish dominant battlespace awareness and support to mobile task forces with a full range of telecommunications services that can be quickly extended to any area in the world.

Boeing will lead a team to provide a full range of life-cycle support services to assist DISA 1. (body) DISA - Defense Information Systems Agency.

 with consolidation of DOD communications into an integrated and secure wideband DISN information transfer network. The team will provide technical and management support services including program management, cost/schedule management, systems engineering, test and evaluation, logistics, provisioning, installation, and operations and maintenance.

The DOD, its services and agencies, and other government departments also may acquire similar communications support services for their DISN-related requirements under the DSS-G contract.
