Despite Notre Dame's defensive dominance, Servite (4-1) still had its chances late in the game. With two minutes remaining, Ryan Pulver appeared to break the plane for a score on a reception, but he fumbled in the end zone for a touchback.

At the start of the fourth quarter, the Friars had the ball at Notre Dame's 17-yard line but were forced into a three-and-out. Michael Loftus missed wide right on a 26-yard field goal.

Offensively, Notre Dame (4-1) wasn't required to produce much late. Dayne Crist completed just 3of 11 second-half passes as the Knights mostly ran the ball and nursed their 10-point halftime lead.

Crist finished with 188 passing yards, and Thaddeus Brown picked up 77 rushing yards and two scores.

It was the opening two quarters that saw Notre Dame's offense take charge. Brown's 17-yard touchdown run right up the gut gut (gut)

Michael Salveson got the team on the board with a 37-yard field goal, and the Knights made up 70 yards in just seven plays on their next drive, going up 10-0 on Brown's 3-yard score.

Servite quarterback Johnny McEntee threw for 173 yards, but struggled to find receivers.

He did hook up with Dennis Shoemate for the Friars' only offensive score, a 47-yard touchdown pass to make the score 10-7 with 6:05 left in the first half.
