Mysterious Stranger Abroad.


Those of us who live with MS understand that symptoms may mysteriously appear and disappear, that our bodies may seem strange and alien, that sometimes we may not understand. John and Alice Johnson present their 40-year journey with MS or, as they call it, Mysterious Stranger.

This African-American couple met in 1953, bringing personal challenges to their relationship. Alice secretly struggled with bulimia bulimia: see eating disorders. . John didn't tell anyone about the times he would have to rush to the restroom. For some time John's diagnosis was not definite, so the couple diagnosed him as having "Mysterious Stranger".

The book's chapters are divided between John and Alice, with each reporting in turn. Their stories take on depth and meaning as issues surrounding sur·round
