) announced today that it has received approval from the Food and Drug Administration to manufacture and market Guanfacine Hydrochloride tablets in 1 mg and 2 mg strengths.

Guanfacine is the generic equivalent of Tenex(R), a product of A.H. Robins Co. used in the management of hypertension. This compound can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive antihypertensive /an·ti·hy·per·ten·sive/ (-ten´siv) counteracting high blood pressure, or an agent that does this.
