Orlean, author of The Orchid Thief, has written a provocative series of short travel stories on places that are not only unusual but also downright ordinary. With wit, humor humor, according to ancient theory, any of four bodily fluids that determined man's health and temperament. White's reading, with a hard voice and a fast delivery, adds an edge to the delivery. The pace is exhausting but the subject matter is so interesting that the listener forgets the reader and listens to the content.
