Music Maker: Univision Communications Inc. acquired the remaining haft of Mexico-based Disa Records Disa Records is a privately owned record label based in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Specializing in Spanish language recordings, the company's works are distributed in the United States by Universal Music Group. [1].  and Edimonsa Publishing. The Los Angeles-based Spanish media company bought the remaining shams in the record company from the Chavez family of Monterrey, Mexico. The original 50 percent was purchased by Univision in June 2001, with a provision that the remaining shares be purchased in five years. With this purchase Univision Music Group The Univision Music Group Is the #1 Latin music company in the U.S. with approximately 45% market share. Founded in April 2001 with a vision of releasing and marketing the best of every genre of Latin music, the Univision Music Group now includes three record labels: Univision  now has more than a 40 percent share of the Latin music market in the United States. Disa Records will continue to operate as a separate label under UMG UMG Universal Music Group
