ON THE FARM

"LIVE MUSIC ON THE FARM," an October music series at the Northern Lights Christmas Tree Christmas tree

 Farm in Pleasant Hill, starts this weekend.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Home-Grown Band will kick off the series with country-bluegrass at noon both days. The group features four octogenarians on fiddles, guitar and bass.

Other scheduled performers include the female trio Barefoot Nellie on Oct. 12, the bluegrass bluegrass, any species of the large and widely distributed genus Poa, chiefly range and pasture grasses of economic importance in temperate and cool regions. In general, bluegrasses are perennial with fine-leaved foliage that is bluish green in some species.  group the Cascade Colonels on Oct. 13 and the oldies Oldies is a generic term commonly used to describe a radio format that usually concentrates on Top 40 music from the '50s, '60s and '70s.

Oldies are typically from R&B, pop and rock music genres.
 group Staff Infection on Oct. 19. All concerts will run from noon until 2 p.m.

Admission is $5 a person or $20 a family. Children ages 5 and younger are free. Admission includes a small pumpkin.

The Turtles' hits include "Happy Together," and "It Ain't Me, Babe." The Chiffons are best known for "He's So Fine," "One Fine Day" and "Sweet Talkin' Guy." Tommy Roe is the man behind "Sheila" and "Oh Sweet Pea." Chis Montez's signature songs include "Let's Dance," "Call Me" and "The More I See You."

Tickets are $26.75 to $50.

 for the Eugene punk-swing band the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, is suing his former record label, MOJO Records, a trio of other parent labels and a pair of record executives to recover unpaid royalties from the sale of the band's 1997 album "Zoot Suit Riot," said Anthony Davis, Perry's Portland lawyer.

The two-part suit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, also claims that Perry was fraudulently induced to sign over the rights to the multiplatinum album.
