It portrays the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of amateur actors, their interactions with the Duke and Duchess of Athens, Theseus and Hippolyta, and " by William Shakespeare. Traveling with the theater's staff and company members, filmmaker Tom Weidlinger captured weeks of behind-the-scenes struggles with language, culture, ideology and artistic egos, all of which threatened to scuttle the production.
