Coe formerly was the artistic administrator of the Aspen Music Festival and School The Aspen Music Festival and School, founded in 1949, is an internationally renowned classical music festival that presents world-class music in an intimate, small-town setting. It is also one of the world's premier training grounds for young adult musicians. and prior to that was general manager of the Cleveland Orchestra and was orchestra manager and general manager of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Coe earned a B.A. degree in music from Wellesley College. Laster will oversee student life, including recruitment and admissions, as well as the music library and archives, and the buildings and grounds department. He formerly was dean of the Aspen Music Festival and School and is a graduate of Maryville College in Tennessee and the University of Southern California The U.S. News & World Report ranked USC 27th among all universities in the United States in its 2008 ranking of "America's Best Colleges", also designating it as one of the "most selective universities" for admitting 8,634 of the almost 34,000 who applied for freshman admission . |
