Mushkin Enhanced Memory Systems Announces the Release of Its New 128mb High Perf Rev3 pc133 222 Module.

Business Editors/Hi-Tech Writers

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2000

Mushkin Enhanced Memory Systems (http://www.mushkin.com) announced today that it has developed and released for sale the latest revision of it's very successful High Performance pc133 line.

These new REV3 modules are guaranteed by Mushkin to run at 150mHz 2-2-2 making it their best "overclockers" module yet! High Density 16x8 hand-picked Siemens/Infineon discretes combined with Mushkin's black 6-layer PCB PCB: see polychlorinated biphenyl.

and our pending release of a DDR module, Mushkin remains committed to fulfilling the needs of millions of users of the tried-and-true SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) A type of dynamic RAM (DRAM) memory chip that has been widely used since the late 1990s. SDRAM chips eliminated wait states by dividing the chip into two cell blocks and interleaving data between them.  architecture," said Bill Mushkin, VP of Mushkin Enhanced.

Mr. Mushkin continues, "While DDR is still in its infancy and wrestles with stability issues, we at Mushkin know that there are users out there who still want to push SDRAM performance to the edge, hence the need for the Rev3.We expect these to be modules of choice for the high performance community."

About the High Performance Rev3 PC133 222 module

The new Rev3 is a PC133 CAS Latency 2 module guaranteed to run at 150mHz 2-2-2 (board and processor dependent). The Rev3 uses 8 16x8 chips in a 64mbit single sided configuration. The module includes a Serial Presence Detect Serial Presence Detect - presence detect  (SPD (Serial Presence Detect) The method used by DIMM memory modules to communicate their capacity and features to the computer. Data such as manufacturer, size, speed, voltage and row and column addresses are stored in an EEPROM chip on the module. ) EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable ROM) A rewritable memory chip that holds its content without power. Although EEPROMs spawned flash memory, EEPROMs are byte addressable at the write level, whereas flash chips must erase a block of bytes before rewriting.  chip. The module is an unbuffered, non-registered module currently unavailable as ECC (1) (Error-Correcting Code) A type of memory that corrects errors on the fly. See ECC memory.

(2) (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) A public key cryptography method that provides fast decryption and digital signature processing.

Built on Mushkin's new black 6-layer PCB board, these modules look as great as they perform! Mushkin has tested the Rev3 on all of the latest chipsets including the BX, AMD (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, www.amd.com) A major manufacturer of semiconductor devices including x86-compatible CPUs, embedded processors, flash memories, programmable logic devices and networking chips.  750, VIA KX133, VIA KT133, VIA Apollo Pro 133A and i815e chipsets. The Rev3 is of special interest to users of the i815e because of it's high-density configuration.

The limitation imposed on overclockers by the i815e's inability to run more than 4 banks or sides of SDRAM will be softened by the Rev3's high-density single-sided configuration.
