Museum of Comic Art moves to Soho.

After little more than a year at the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art's first physical home in Union Square, MoCCA Chairman Lawrence Klein Lawrence Robert "Larry" Klein (born September 14, 1920) is an American economist.

Klein was born in Omaha, Nebraska. For his work in creating computer models to forecast economic trends in the field of econometrics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, he
has announced a deal to move the young museum to larger facilities at 594 Broadway in Lower Manhattan's famed SoHo arts district

," says Klein.

For an organization barely two years old, this a tremendous leap forward and I'd like to thank MoCCA Board of Advisor member Jeffrey R. Gural, chairman of Newmark and owner of 594 Broadway, for offering us the generous lease that makes this move possible."

Ellen S. Abramowitz, director of Newmark, was instrumental in finding and securing space for MoCCA at 594 Broadway as Chair of the museum's Facilities Search committee. Newmark's Donna Vogel, leasing agent, worked with Gural on the owner's side.

"I am very pleased and proud to have been chosen to serve on the Board of Advisors for MoCCA," says Gural. "And I look forward to having such a valuable and prestigious tenant as MoCCA contributing arts and culture to the metropolitan area."

MoCCA's new home is on the fourth floor of 594 Broadway. According to Klein, plans call for roughly two-thirds of the usable space to be devoted to hosting exhibits, events and educational programs, with the remaining area allocated for office and storage space.

"I am thrilled to be a part of the physical growth of MoCCA," said Abramowitz. "There is no other institution like MoCCA, and this expansion will enable more exhibitions and community outreach programs, through which both children and adults can learn how instrumental the cartoon art form has been in society."
