Murata Electronics Unveils Advanced Common Mode Choke Coil; Low Cost Filtering Solution for USB, IEEE 1394, LVDS and Other High Speed Digital Interfaces.

Business Editors

SMYRNA, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 20, 2002

Murata Electronics (www.murata-northamerica.com) a world-leading innovator in electronics, today unveiled the DLW DLW Doubly Labeled Water
DLW Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad
DLW Deutsche Linoleumwerke (German Flooring Factory)
DLW Diversity of the Lepidoptera in the World (Centre for Entomological Studies Ankara project)
21H low cost common mode choke coil series.

Using new precise winding technology Murata can deliver a low cost common mode choke coil that meets the performance needs of Universal Serial Bus See USB.

(hardware, standard) Universal Serial Bus - (USB) An external peripheral interface standard for communication between a computer and external peripherals over an inexpensive cable using biserial transmission.

Type of serial bus that allows peripheral devices (disks, modems, printers, digitizers, data gloves, etc.) to be easily connected to a computer.
), FireWire/IEEE 1394, Low-Voltage Differential Signaling Low-voltage differential signaling, or LVDS, is an electrical signaling system that can run at very high speeds over cheap, twisted-pair copper cables. It was introduced in 1994, and has since become very popular in computers, where it forms part of very high-speed networks  (LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) A transmission method for sending digital information. LVDS sends data over data high and data low lines rather than data and ground. ) and other high-speed digital interfaces.

Digital high-speed interfaces are increasing in demand as the need for bandwidth grows and as electronics and computers become connected at work and at home. Murata's DLW21H series is crucial to the performance needs of high-speed digital interfaces because it suppresses noise with minimal distortion to the high-speed signal waveform.

"Murata's sophisticated technology has made it easier for design engineers to meet FCC (1) (Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC, www.fcc.gov) The U.S. government agency that regulates interstate and international communications including wire, cable, radio, TV and satellite. The FCC was created under the U.S.  regulations while remaining cost competitive," said Shuji Mikami, Group Product Manager for EMI Filters and Inductors at Murata Electronics North America. "This attractive combination is just one of many reasons why Murata is the ceramic passive components market leader."

Additional benefits of Murata's new common mode choke coil include lead free construction and compact 0805 size (2.0mm x 1.2mm x 0.9mm). Also, the DLW21H series produces high common mode impedance at high frequencies resulting in excellent noise suppression performance. The impedance values available in this product range from 67 to 180ohm.

The operating temperature for the DLW21H series is -40 and 85 degrees Celsius.

The sample price for the DLW21H series is 32 cents and current lead times are eight weeks.
