Mum's still the word. (Digest).
Collaboration outside one's secure Intranet or Lan is a
growing problem (see "One if by Land ... in this issue), and the
logistics of aerospace and defence companies trying to communicate
securely with each other is akin to a nightmare--everyone wants to get
their hands on the info that is being passed. Exostar, founded by BAE
Systems, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Rolls-Royce, has upgraded
its managed collaboration service that enables industry partners to work
together in a highly secure online environment. ForumPass 2.0 features
exclusive Internet security mechanisms, such as end-to-end document
encryption, Fips 140-2 compliant HSM key storage and digital
certificates for user authentication from VeriSign. This upgrade allows
for an easier workflow, better CAD visualisation and administration of
the program's project management, virtual meeting, document sharing
and product structure management tools.
