 has committed $13.5 million to support the construction of the first and second phases of the Allen Telescope Array The Allen Telescope Array (ATA), formerly known as the One Hectare Telescope (1hT), is a joint effort by the SETI Institute and the Radio Astronomy Laboratory (RAL) at the University of California, Berkeley to construct a radio interferometer that is dedicated  (the ATA-32 and ATA-206), the world's newest multiple use radio telescope radio telescope: see radio astronomy.
