Multimax Wins New Awards for its Major Army Work.Business Editors/High-Tech Writers LARGO, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 2004 Multimax, Inc. announced today it has won subcontracts covering significant Information Technology (IT) work for the U.S. Army. Contracts for the work were awarded under the Army's IT Enterprise Solutions (ITES ITES Information Technology Enabled Services ITES Information Technology Enterprise Solutions ITES Institut Technologique Européen de Sécurité ITES International Test & Engineering Services Company (Japan) ITES It Enabled Services ) contract to Multimax's partner, Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) is an aerospace and defense conglomerate that is the result of the 1994 purchase of Grumman by Northrop. The company is the third largest defense contractor for the U.S. Information Technology, Inc., an ITES prime contractor. Northrop Grumman IT, in turn, awarded subcontracts for the work to Multimax. Multimax has been performing this work for the Army since 1996. -- Under the first of two subcontracts, Multimax will continue its software programming support for U.S. Army organizations at Fort Monmouth, NJ. Services include software design and development; Web-based application development; database administration; and legacy mainframe system support. Army customers are components of the Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM CECOM Communications Electronics Command (US Army) CECOM National Center for Communications of the Civil Protection Agency ), including the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC (Longitudinal Redundancy Check) An error checking method that generates a parity bit from a specified string of bits on a longitudinal track. In a row and column format, such as on magnetic tape, LRC is often used with VRC, which creates a parity bit for each ), the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans (DCSOPS DCSOPS Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans, United States Army (US DoD) ), and the Deputy Chief of Staff for C4I C4I Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence (US DoD) C4I Command Control Communications Computer and Intelligence (DCSC4I DCSC4I Deputy Chief of Staff for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence ). -- Under the second subcontract, Multimax will continue its support for the LRC's Logistics Systems Support Office (LSSO LSSO Laser System Safety Officer LSSO London Schools Symphony Orchestra (London, UK) LSSO Logistics Systems Support Office LSSO Litton Amecon Space System Operations ) in St. Louis, MO. Services include telecommunications support; network, desktop and server administration; Microsoft Exchange administration; and information assurance support. Work began under the two subcontracts on April 1, 2004, for a base year and four option years. These awards are potentially worth some $8 million if all options are exercised.
