Multi-Fill solids depositors for "difficult to fill" products.

On stand D71, F. Jahn & Co. Ltd. are showing the MPF solids depositor from Multi-Fill Inc. of Salt Lake City, USA, who design and build a range of depositors for products which have previously proved very difficult to fill by machine.

The MPF depositor features a volumetric filling head, the operation of which is controlled by a PLC. The MPF is capable of depositing precise portions of products such as cooked pasta and rice, vegetables, fruits and refrigerated salads, into trays, cartons or pouches.

Multi-Fill also offer a product distribution system that allows it's MPFSC120-01 automatic depositor to work with multi-lane machines, such as thermoformers or tray filling/sealing lines. This system, aimed particularly at ready meals manufacture, is designed to handle hard to fill products at speeds up to 120 containers a minute.

One MPF filling head can now deal with up to eight containers in various combinations or patterns. Alternatively, the distribution system can be used as a stand-alone unit working, for example, directly under a multi-head weigher.
