It has been agreed between the two companies, that instead of receiving payment up-front for US$450,000 from HKT, Zi Corporation is to invoice HKT IMS Internet Business Solutions for the number of business customers buying an Internet Starter Pack which includes Zi Mail during a given month. In return, Zi Corporation is to supply Zi Mail at a higher price than what was agreed to in October, 1996. HKT IMS Netvigator is a commissioned-based distributor only. Zi Mail uses Zi Input, a Chinese character input system that is simple to learn and easy to use. PC World Hong Kong named Zi Mail as "Best Buy" for Chinese email software because it "provides the best Chinese language support" (March 1997 issue). Zi Mail was awarded a four star rating by PC World.
