Mowag has been approved by the Swiss parliament to supply 36 Radio
Access Point (Rap) versions of the Piranha III 8 x 8 to the Swiss Army.
The armoured Rap is designed to provide secure communications between
tactical radio-supported and wire-connected telephone networks. The
vehicle is fitted with a 15-metre Smag telescopic aerial and a 30 kVA,
400/230 V auxiliary power unit to feed both the communication and air
conditioning systems
