Sale Sharks Sale Sharks are a professional rugby union team who play in England in the Guinness Premiership.

The club is an offshoot of Sale F.C., which is based in Sale, Greater Manchester, but Sharks currently play in Stockport at Edgeley Park, ground sharing with Stockport County F.C.

 believes the most sensible way of avoiding club-versus-country animosity would be to move the Six Nations Championship from its traditional place in the rugby calendar.

Kennedy, a Scot who has a foot in both camps, has seen the current scheduling of the Six Nations prove to be divisive already this season.

Scotland head coach Frank Hadden was denied the services of Leicester lock Jim Hamilton, Gloucester scrum-half Rory Lawson and Northampton wing Sean Lamont for yesterday's training session at Murrayfield after Premier Rugby ( who represent the 12 Guinness Premiership clubs, including Sale ( blocked their involvement.

Hadden has threatened to take action via the International Rugby Board The International Rugby Board (IRB) is the world governing and law-making body for the sport of rugby union, and previously for rugby football. It was founded in 1886 as the International Rugby Football Board (IRFB) by Scotland, Wales and Ireland. .

Kennedy is a non-executive director of the Scottish Rugby Union and said: "This is an opportunity to resolve, once and for all, a crazy situation.

"I feel for Scotland coach Frank Hadden and it is not good for others either.

"Hopefully everybody will get round the table in a way I know England want and thrash out a structure similar to the Southern Hemisphere where they have the Super-14 leading into the Tri-Nations followed by the national provincial championships."

He added: "Something needs to be done and I hope the current conflict can be the lever that sorts the situation out."
