Mount Airy, NC Chooses HTE to Provide Public Safety Software.

HTE Inc. (Nasdaq:HTEI), a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for public sector organizations and utilities worldwide, today announced that the city of Mount Airy, NC, has signed a contract worth more than $248,000 to license HTE's CAD400(TM) computer aided dispatch software.

This is the first of a four phase project that will modernize the Mount Airy Police Department's information systems and allow it to interface seamlessly with other city departments already using HTE financial, utilities and community development solutions.

"We're replacing antiquated hardware and software that just no longer meets our needs," said Robert Billos, management information systems director for Mount Airy. "We reviewed several other systems, but because of CAD400's ability to integrate with the HTE software other departments are already using, and because of our high level of satisfaction with those products, we chose HTE."

Billos said the police department is looking forward to improving its internal processes, and to being able to provide better services to external callers. CAD400 tracks the status of responding police, fire and EMS units and provides quick and accurate personnel and equipment response recommendations.

Mount Airy, the basis for the fictitious town of Mayberry, setting of the Andy Griffith Show, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, but remains a small town with fewer than 9,000 residents.
