Motricity Appoints Two Execs as General Managers of Media and Entertainment Sales, Global Carrier Business; Industry Veterans Rex Ishibashi, Daniel Rizer to Focus on Media & Entertainment, Mobile Operator Market Segments.

DURHAM, N.C. -- Motricity, the premier provider of mobile content solutions and services to the wireless industry, announced today that it has named two high-profile veterans in the wireless and media industries to two key positions within the company--a direct execution of the company's intent to attract the industry's top leaders to focus on Motricity's market channels of Mobile Operators, MVNOs, Media & Entertainment, Content Providers, Consumer Brands and OEM/OS suppliers.

Rex Ishibashi, a former executive with Electronic Arts and Wired magazine, has been named to the position of general manager of Media and Entertainment Sales. Daniel Rizer, a former Managing Director of the Communications practice at BearingPoint and Partner at IBM Business Consulting Services and Accenture, will serve as general manager of the Global Carrier Business for Motricity.

Ishibashi is widely recognized for his expertise in general management, business development, strategic planning and finance at the convergence of the media, entertainment and high technology industries. He is known as a highly effective manager with experience in corporate, legal and international affairs. Most recently, Ishibashi served as an executive advisor to technology and media companies including Elevation Partners, Matrix Memory, Kontiki, Linden Lab, Chow Magazine, Silver Lake Partners and Pulse, advising on corporate strategy, business development and fundraising.

Prior to his work as an executive advisor, Ishibashi led Corporate Development for Kontiki, a company that develops and licenses networking software for large-scale digital media distribution through corporate networks and the Internet. Ishibashi has also served as vice president of Business and Corporate Development for Electronic Arts -- the largest publisher of interactive entertainment on PCs, consoles and online -- where he was also co-founder and general manager of EA.com. Prior to EA, Ishibashi was an early executive founder of Wired magazine and helped drive Wired's pioneering online strategy. Ishibashi also served in senior business development and financial roles with The 3DO Company and KPMG Peat Marwick. Ishibashi is a graduate of UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, and is based out of Motricity's headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC.

Rizer brings over 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry to his position at Motricity, expanding on focused expertise in the wireless fields. Rizer has a proven track record that includes success in building and operating businesses, as well as structuring and completing complex deals and solutions.

Most recently, Rizer served as IBM's Next Generation Network/Network Transformation leader of the Americas Group. In this position, Rizer helped to build solution-based business to drive large, complex deals comprised of IBM services, hardware, software and third-party partners, expanding IBM's NGN, SDP and BSS/OSS market share while directly contributing to signings and profitability. Rizer also served as the global relationship partner for IBM's Verizon account, with direct responsibility for IBM services across Verizon and Verizon Wireless.

Prior to IBM, Rizer served as managing director of the communications sector strategy practice at BearingPoint, a top provider of strategic consulting, application services, technology solutions and managed services to Global 2000 companies and government organizations. Prior to BearingPoint, Rizer served as a partner in Accenture's telecommunications practice, where he served as a senior strategy representative on an account team for a major U.S. telecommunications client.

Rizer received his Bachelor of Science in Operations Management from Auburn University, and graduated with a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from Boston University. He is based out of Motricity's headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC.
